Have you ever wondered why something has that particular name? For instance, why are websites like this called blogs? Why aren't they called froffles or some other word? Blog seems pretty random, but it turns out most of our words come from ancient decent and most new words, or "slang", are just variations of the word or an acronym to describe them. Most of the time the word is simply rooted in a description of the animal or thing or what people thought it was like.
